Coworking Seoul Style at CO-UP

This past Saturday, I had the great pleasure of visiting my friend Ejang’s newest venture CO-UP, a first-of-its-kind coworking space here in Seoul, South Korea. And, in my opinion, CO-UP is a much needed addition to the Korean startup community. Perhaps now that we have a formal place to hang out, network, and bounce crazy ideas off each other, we will begin to see a much more vibrant community begin to develop here (that at least is my hope). Granted the difficulties facing Korean entrepreneurs and startups extend far beyond just lack of networking opportunities, but none-the-less it is a start. And a great start at that. CO-UP has everything that the aspiring entrepreneur in Korea needs:

Co-up Coworking Space - Seoul - Brainstorming

A place to brainstorm and network

Co-up Coworking Space - Seoul

A modular layout (the tables are all on rollers)

Co-up Coworking Space - Seoul - Free Coffee

Free coffee, which in my opinion tastes damn good.

Co-up Coworking Space - Seoul - Hard at Work

And of-course free high-speed (Korean style, not America’s poor excuse for broadband) WIFI

The whole place is wide open to encourage interaction between the individuals who use this space, but for meetings that need just a wee bit more privacy, there is a separate meeting room - complete with projector and screen - that can be utilized by CO-UP members (will post pictures of the meeting room soon).

CO-UP will officially open its doors this month. A 24 hour pass is 10,000won (monthly and weekend only memberships also available), so check it out. And if you see me there, be sure to say hi.
